			The Windows&amp;reg; CE driver is a loadable drivers which need not be included into the Windows &amp;reg; CE system image (binary).&lt;br /&gt;
			Therefore, the driver consists of two DLLs. The driver itself and the application programming interface (API) DLL. The API for the access to the driver and thus to the CIF is compatible to the already existing interface for Windows&amp;reg; systems. The Driver supports the PC card with ISA bus (thus also PC/104) interface and PCMCIA cards.&lt;br /&gt;
			For easier configuration of the CIF card, the API is extended by means of a Firmware and Configuration Download Function.&lt;br /&gt;
			This function is included into the driver interface DLL and is able to load configuration data or firmware files on to the CIF card.&lt;br /&gt;
			The fieldbus configuration is created and tested by the system configurator SyCon&amp;reg; on a Windows&amp;reg; 95/98/ME or Windows&amp;reg; NT/2000/XP based system (Desktop/Notebook).&lt;br /&gt;
			&lt;br /&gt;
			The scope of supply includes all components in source code. This comprises the driver, the API DLL including the necessary Header files and the test, setup and demo programs.&lt;br /&gt;

			A Device Driver is required for the communication between the Communication Interface and the PC applications under the Linux operating system. The driver contains the complete management of the interface and has a simple interface.&lt;br /&gt;
			The user is responsible only for the transfer of the correct parameters to the Device Driver. All dependencies on the operating system such as interrupt management and time monitoring are carried out&lt;br /&gt;
			by the driver. Therefore, the user interface is independent of the operating system.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;
			&lt;br /&gt;
			The driver works together with all our Communication Interfaces and comprises all functions for initialising, parameterising, exchange of data and retrieval of status information. The driver works in Polling or Interrupt operation and services a maximum of four cards in one PC. However, the card can be utilised as ISA, PCI or PC/104. The functions of the Device Driver are independent of the fieldbus system.&lt;br /&gt;
			The access to the variables in the process image is fully identical. What is different are the parameters of the diagnostic and status structures, as well as fieldbus-specific commands. Associated definitions are included as header files.&lt;br /&gt;

As a basis for the configuration, so-called device description files or electronic data sheets (EDS file), in which the characteristics of the bus device are defined, are used. These are standardised for some fieldbus systems and are supplied by the device manufacturer. For other cases, SyCon&amp;reg; offers this function for input. The bus structure is determined by means of a graphical Editor and the individual participant are placed. A double click on the participant opens the corresponding configuration window. In a table there are displayed all the possible modules or data from which the current participant configuration will be created. The address of the data in the process image is issued manually or automatically by the Configurator. The parameterisation of the participant is carried out by means of the selection or entry of the values of the respective fieldbus system. The final step is the defining of the bus parameters. This is limited to the definition of the transmission rate, as all other parameters are independently calculated on the basis of the data in the device description files.&lt;br /&gt;
			All process variables can be provided with a symbolic name. These are made available as an interface to a primary visualisation or SoftPLC or for our OPC Server. In this way the entry and comparison of variables addresses becomes superfluous.&lt;br /&gt;

			SyCon&amp;reg; is the universal System Configurator with a unified user desktop for all our PC cards. As a basis for the configuration, so-called device description files or electronic data sheets (EDS file), in which the characteristics of the bus device are defined, are used. These are standardised for some fieldbus systems and are supplied by the device manufacturer. For other cases, SyCon&amp;reg; offers this function for input. The bus structure is determined by means of a graphical Editor and the individual participant are placed. A double click on the participant opens the corresponding configuration window. In a table there are displayed all the possible modules or data from which the current participant configuration will be created. The address of the data in the process image is issued manually or automatically by the Configurator. The parameterisation of the participant is carried out by means of the selection or entry of the values of the respective fieldbus system. The final step is the defining of the bus parameters. This is limited to the definition of the transmission rate, as all other parameters are independently calculated on the basis of the data in the device description files.&lt;br /&gt;
			All process variables can be provided with a symbolic name. These are made available as an interface to a primary visualisation or SoftPLC or for our OPC Server. In this way the entry and comparison of variables addresses becomes superfluous.&lt;br /&gt;
			SyCon&amp;reg; offers comprehensive diagnostic aids. In the diagnostic mode all the statues of the devices are cyclically called up and presented in red or green depending on whether a data exchange is taking place with it at the time. By double clicking on &amp;#39;red&amp;#39; bus participants, the cause of the error is shown in clear text as far as possible. Further functions include the reading out of error saves, display of statistic counters and the input and output of process data.&lt;br /&gt;
			SyCon&amp;reg; is provided in a basic version with every device. A maximum of two bus participants can be configured with it. This limitation for the respective fieldbus system is lifted by means of a licensing code.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/td&gt;
